If you've always wanted to try archery but do not have the space or the equipment than the Yering District Archers Club is perfect. The club offers beginner classes every Saturday from 10 am - 11 am and provides a hands on experience of shooting with a bow and arrow. The club is located right next to Lilydale Airport and has plenty of outdoor space and friendly club members who are always willing to answer any questions or tell a story.
On Saturday the 15th of October from 10 am - 2 pm the club will be hosting a special open day. All money raised will go to Parkinson's Victoria. All equipment and coaching from a certified coach will be provided. No experience is required and the whole family can participate. Food and drinks are available for purchase and are very reasonably priced. Last year the club raised $3000 for Yarra Valley - Ladies in Pink cancer support group.
On Sunday the 16th of October you can also catch the club's annual archery tournament with club members battling it out for the top position. If you are an experienced archer and would like to participate

Lilydale Airport is just next door and it is really quite something to see the planes in all shapes and sizes fly around. Also the skydivers parachuting just over in the next paddock is quite nice.
