Choir and children's orchestra come together for fun and life learning at Perth Summer Orchestra Camp's (PSOC) popular day music programme this April holidays.
Running for three fun-filled days (18th to 20th April 2016), this unique children's workshop program features singing, musical games, rehearsals with the orchestra, a rhythm workshop and a concert for friends and family.
The camp will run from 10am to 3pm daily at Moerlina School and singers from Year 4 to Year 8 are welcomed to join in (no audition required).
Beloved Choir Director Mirelle Hopwood of WA Massed Choirs and Churchlands specialist music programme will engage her singers with a beautiful and varied repertoire from popular and respected children's vocal composers.
Involvement in singing groups has been proven to promote strong social and emotional health throughout life and for enrichment and movement, the curriculum includes the ever popular rhythm and ensemble session with Josh Webster from KABOOM.
The orchestra is headed by an experienced team of professional conductors and tutors for all levels including Grace Ah-quee the Camp's musical director, who is a professional orchestral musician and staff conductor with WAYO, and founding conductor Daemon Clark.
The team at PSOC believe everyone can enjoy singing and that it supports all forms of music education and to conclude the camp, students will celebrate with a free concert for family and friends.
Past music campers say:
