Event:
Bush Tucker, Wine Tasting and Entertainment at Fernvale
Fernvale is a country town in the Somerset Region of South East Queensland, approximately sixty kilometres from Brisbane. The area was once occupied by the Indigenous Jagera people. In 1970, just upstream from Fernvale, a significant archaeological find was discovered in a double chambered weathered cavity in conglomerate cliff. This is now inundated by Wivenhoe Dam; however at the time excavation recovered thousands of stone artefacts associated with shellfish, mammal, bird, reptile and amphibian remains. Today fishing, non-motorised sports and swimming are enjoyed on the dam.

The Festival's aim is to showcase everything unique and wonderful about life in the region, including what is found in the paddock to what is eaten on the plate. Aboriginal chef, Dale Chapman, will be cooking up an arrangement of bush tucker to tempt all tastebuds while Woongaroo Winery will be providing wines to taste. Other refreshments will be available during the day including the ever-popular pies and sausage sandwich to authentic Indian Cuisine with our Gudjarati Cook.

Entertainment includes Aboriginal art and performances, belly dancers, clowns, fire eaters, Latin dancers, unicorn rides, llamas and children's entertainers "The Kangagang". There will be a large undercover food court area and you may pick up a great bargain from the market and local produce stalls where proceeds go to supporting the local community. Over 50 market and information stalls will be present on the day.
