Get your gelato and pizza fix at this free Italian festival
Celebrate the rich, colourful and delicious culture, history and heritage of Italy at Colours of Italy, taking place on Sunday 24th March 2019 between 9am and 4pm at the beautiful lush green gardens of the Stirling Civic Gardens on Cedric Street, Stirling.
Proudly supported by the City of Stirling, this inaugural festival brings together the Italian community living in Western Australia and connects it to the rest of the Perth community through the things everybody recognises and loves, including pizza, music, pasta, performing arts and coffee. Did I mention gelato? And more pizza!
Integrating the new with the old, the festival will delight all ages so come with the young and the old of your family. The children will be able to delight themselves with the variety of kids' entertainment throughout the day, such as bubble soccer, bocce, face painting, giant yard games and much more.
It wouldn't be an Italian festival without the glorious food! The community will be dishing up traditional Italian cuisine favourites, including an Italian sausage sizzle BBQ breakfast with cappuccino as well as food trucks. Food demonstrations will take place, featuring local Italian chefs, celebrities and cooks so you can bring a slice of authentic Italy right back into your home and cook the way Nonna always does!
From the grass, enjoy and support live entertainment from up and coming local Italian artists on the main stage, which will be housing a host of performances across opera singing, music, dance, theatre and a broad cross-section of the performing arts. A roving accordion player will be roaming the grounds, among the flurry of activities, Italian luxury vehicle displays, motorbikes and an Italian artisan market for a sweet spot of shopping.
The festival will provide an opportunity to reconnect with families and friends whilst absorbing Italy's culture and history. It also provides a chance for the local community to meet local Italian Clubs in the Stirling area to showcase what they have on offer, which includes delightful sweet treats that are connected to their region.
This event is organised and kindly supported by the local Italian Clubs in the Stirling Area: Laguna Veneto Social & Bocce Club
Sicilian Club Perth Tuscany Association
• Vasto Club Casa D'abruzzo
