The takeover of Preston Market at 30 The Centreway, Preston, will be filled with multicultural events and entertainment at this all-ages party, showcasing delectable food pop-ups, including a Pakistani tea stall, street food from Hookah Paani, and a halal meat food truck, with more to follow closer to date. Don't miss the Colours of Eid on Sunday 18 June 2023 from 10am to 3pm. A free community event, expect to find live entertainment, pop-up stalls, henna artists, halal food offerings, and free kid's activities.

Already a multicultural hub, Preston Market's one-day festival celebrates the Islamic Eid holiday which has been created in collaboration with social equity organisation Celebrating and Conserving Cultures. Authentic middle eastern and Mediterranean band, Zourouna, and multidisciplinary storytellers Bukjeh will be performing, plus there's lots of interactive activities to keep the little ones busy.

Showing their support for the event, Federal Member for Jagajaga Kate Thwaites and Federal Member for Calwell Maria Vamvakinou will be in attendance alongside State Member for Thomastown Bronwyn Halfpenny. Celebrating and Conserving Cultures promotes the social integration of disadvantaged and vulnerable groups and persons by fostering inclusive societies that are stable, safe, just and empathetic. It fosters community respect for diversity, equity of opportunities and the participation of all to reduce the damaging effects of disadvantage among immigrants.
