The perfect combination of science and art
Ipswich Art Gallery has re-opened its doors, welcoming families to the current exhibit, "Colour - See the World in a New Light." Visitors will explore how light influences colour, and compare their perception of colour with others.

The exhibit features more than 25 interactive experiences and hands-on activities, ranging from coloured bubbles to iridescent minerals to colour illusions. Although intended for children 5-12 years, younger children can also enjoy the activities with adult assistance.

Following COVID-19 restrictions, attendance is limited to 20 visitors at a single time. Consequently, children are able to participate in their preferred activity with minimal or no waiting time.

Exhibit highlights include:
1. Competing in a digital game with colour prompts
2. Manipulating light frequencies to create music
3. Seeing how colour blind people view the world
4. Making and observing bubbles under different coloured lights
5. Viewing artwork that changes colour from different angles
6. Matching colours to adjectives
7. Creating pixel artwork
