The
Bribie Island Community Arts Centre is home to a very talented and hard working collective of artists producing stunning works of art from a wide variety of mediums, such as, paints, pottery, sculpture, woodwork, fabric, glassware, metal and jewellery. The Centre maintains some very beautiful galleries showcasing the amazing creative output of local and visiting artists. Artists and visitors regularly enjoy the expansive, flexible and inviting space of the
Matthew Flinders Gallery as well as the whimsical, fun and practical garden art exhibits found in the
Seasoned Outdoor Gallery. All in all the
Bribie Island Community Arts Centre is
THE place for everybody to enjoy the pleasure of the art put on display by some truly talented artists.
One such exhibition set to tingle all manner of artistic tastebuds is the
Colour, Form and Reflections Exhibition running in the
Matthew Flinders Gallery at the
Bribie Island Community Arts Centre, 191 Sunderland Drive, Banksia Beach, Bribie Island from Tuesday, 9 August until Friday, 19 August, 2022. The gallery is open from 9.00am to 4.00pm from Tuesday to Sunday.
Entry to the exhibition is
FREE.
The
Colour, Form and Reflections Exhibition is an exciting exposition of the beauty truly talented artists can create from mediums such as, watercolours, gold and silver and glass and wood.
You will see how the
COLOUR radiates from the translucency of watercolour paintings depicting various aspects of our community and environment. Members of the
Bribie Island Watercolour Working Together Group will be showing their renderings of historic villages, portraits, flowers, seascapes and landscapes.
The Exhibition will provide you with a new sense of the diversity of
FORM and how shapes can be different but just as beautiful. You can compare the beauty, shape and texture of Sue and Elmar Rothbrust's handcrafted gold and silver jewellery with the innovative wood and leadlight glass sculptures from Shirley Heapy.
Then, once you have taken in the Exhibition, you will appreciate how the
REFLECTIONS exuding from all three artistic dimensions, painted reflections in water, reflections from silver and gold jewellery and from the glass sculptures are all part of our enjoyment of artistic endeavour.
For those of you who can attend on Saturday, 13 August any time between 11.00am and 2.00pm will have the opportunity to meet and talk with the artists. If you miss out on the Exhibit's artists there will be other artists from the Centre available during normal Gallery hours to meet visitors and do demonstrations.
