The 'Happiest 5k Run on the Planet' is back in Sydney this August to the cheer of people looking for a fun day out with family and friends. The Swisse Color Run is the only running event of its kind in Australia that marries exercise, laughter, partying and camaraderie with lots of powdered make up.

Originally from the US, the Color Run is now the single largest running event series around the globe with events in 27 countries including Belgium , Peru, Netherlands , Japan, UK, Singapore , Finland etc. Since January 2012, it has expanded to over 200 cities including Marseille, Amsterdam , Taipei, Dubai , Jakarta, Munich etc. With tickets to the Sydney event on 24 August running out quick, here are 4 colourful reasons to grab your tickets before they are all sold out.

Free makeover

If you always wanted a full makeover with vibrant colours, this unique paintrun is the event to join. There is no other 5 kilometre run where you will be powdered with colour along the route. Then doused some more at the finish line with a gigantic "Finish Festival" of colour combinations. Good news is the powder is derived from 100% natural food-grade corn starch and can be removed easily after the run.

Its all about fun

This is a fun run. There are no competitors to pit yourself against or world records to break. The run is not even timed. So just grab your family and friends, and enjoy a fun time out together with plenty of colours to show for it at the end of the day. Your ticket also includes some fun and colourful stuff like an event T-shirt, sweat brand, wristband and temporary tattoo. Plus, there's a great post-run party with music from the main stage and massive colour throws at the finish line.

Everyone can join in

Everyone is welcomed to join in irregardless of age or fitness level. There are first time runners and professional athletes to babies in trolleys and 80 year old seniors. Since there's no race to get anywhere real fast, you can walk, run, dance, crawl and even cartwheel to the finish line in full colours.

Run for a cause

While the Color Run is not a charity, it supports the charitable interests and efforts of participants as well as raise awareness for local charities involved with the Run. Some of the charities involved include the Australian Red Cross, Vision Australia, RSPCA, Heartkids and many others. It's easy to support your favourite cause or charity as the organisers have created a dedicated fundraising website. Simply go to the Sydney event website for more details on the existing charities or start your own cause.
