The Color Run is about to hit Perth's Shores, and if you have no idea what this is about, then you are in for a great surprise. In short, the colour run is about running, or walking, through an array of colour.
The Color Run is a variation of the Hindu's Holi Festival of Colour. Holi is the celebration of Earth's dazzling transformation of winter into spring. Participants celebrate by throwing coloured chalk into the air and over each other.
The Color Run starts with a very festive celebration of music in Langley Park. All participants are required to wear white t-shirts. I guess this is to showcase how many shades of colour you have transformed into at the end of the run.
There are ranges of colour stations which you can either run through, or stop and be soaked up by the colour of the moment. I guess the goal is to be completely drenched in colour by the time you cross the finish line.
Some friends of mine completed this run in California with their 2 year old daughter. Everything was drenched in colour, including the pram and the running shoes. If you are worried about the mess, I believe that chalk powder is easy to wash out. However, if I know dust, it gets everywhere.
If you are looking at doing something different for spring, then I would have to say that this activity could quite easily top your list. I know that my friends were lucky to get tickets as they were sold out within a week. I would suggest in
getting your tickets now, and then work on the "training" for the big day which is on the 3rd November 2013.
