Country music theme at this motel
Guitars feature prominently at the Colonial Inn, which is appropriate given its location in the country music capital of Australia.
The 3.5 AAA star rated motel is quiet, clean and economical with a rural outlook and the New England Highway nearby. The rooms are set back from the road in three acres of gardens overlooking the Peel River to the rear. BBQ facilities provide a chance to cook alfresco and relax while taking in the rural views.
A 60 seater licensed restaurant and bar – both suitably guitar themed – offer a range of home style cooking and daily breakfast.
Couples and single travellers are well catered for with a variety of rooms to suit all.
Special access room
A special access room is available with bathroom handrails and lower counters in the bedroom. All rooms have air conditioning and the essentials you would expect in a motel.
Check the motel website for availability and rates, with specials available outside the Country Music Festival held each January. Group rates are available for tours or wedding groups with plenty of parking for cars and buses.
The motel is a few kilometres out of town on the Armidale Road as you approach Tamworth from Armidale.
