Collins Beach

Collins beach is a little piece of secret paradise surrounded by bushland and hidden away from view only 20 minutes from Manly Wharf.
When lying on it's pristine white sands, surrounded by tall swaying trees, you can easily convince yourself that you are on some remote island hideaway instead of the centre of a large pulsing city.
Here is a satellite photo of the beach.
And a few more pictures (yes you can use 'And' at the start of the sentence, my English teacher said so):
The Waterfall
The entire beach
Jump Rock
It's also home to a colony of Little Penguins, the only one on the Australian Mainland. If you do see these cute little chaps be sure not to disturb them, although I'm sure no WeekendNotes readers would do such a thing :)
The best way to get there is to catch a ferry to Manly Wharf. Turn right onto East Esplanade and follow that around until you get to Stuart St.
Follow Stuart St to the end, past the usually busy Little Manly Cove, and then take the track to the left which will lead you down through some bush and to the beach.
From the beach you will also be able to see Jump Rock which can be a lot of fun, but do be careful etc.
Why? It's a beautiful little beach and very easy to get to.
