Biggest Christmas Pageant in the South West
The town of Collie is holding the biggest Christmas pageant in the South West!

Come and join in the old-time Christmas spirit in Forrest St and Central Park, Collie!

Every year, Santa makes a special visit to the Christmas Pageant, ready to create some beautiful memories for you and your family.

Santa will pop out to his float to wave to the whole crowd during the always-popular street parade which is from 6 pm to 7 pm, then back into the grotto until 9 pm.

Ladybird Fairies and Green Dragon are back for this year's pageant, along with the following:

  • Juggling duo Bizircus
  • Stilt Walking Super Beings
Two gigantic aliens and their space-babe assistant are set to invade the Christmas Pageant - from a solar system beyond our galaxy, these larger-than-life Cyber beasts are on a research mission to discover more about the curious creatures known as earthlings.

The Superbeings create their own atmosphere with a space-age soundtrack, Sci-fi sound FX, and synthesised robotic voices for extra-terrestrial fun.

  • The Flaming Idiots in the Music Shell
The Flaming Idiots are spectacular acrobatic action duo including fire juggling, handstands, hilarious physical comedy with more than 15 years stage and street experience on three continents.

Children can also try out their skills on the Radrock Climbing Wall, High Rope Course and Stunt Jump, or they can work their way through the sideshow and show rides operating right throughout this fabulous festival.

It will be great fun for the children!

During the afternoon and the Street Parade, there will be:

  • Top of the Stairs Puppetry
  • Kite Kinetics
  • Face Painters for the littlies

There will be hidden talent which will keep your ears entertained with amazing local performers at various locations throughout the afternoon and evening.

Plus for those of you who are older, but still young at heart, there will be the group, the fantastic Subdividers who will perform in the Bendigo Music Shell from 8 pm to 10.30 pm.

Another added attraction this year is a large array of market stalls everything from gourmet food and drink, knick-knacks, beauty products, artisan and unique products and services.

What happens in Santa's workshop when Hen3 the Red nose Monster mistakes Santa Clause for Santa Claws?

Will Hen3 usurp Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer's position at the head of the sleigh?

Will Hen3 and Rudolph become friends?

Will a goblin or Orc turn up, just to completely confuse the story?

You'll find out when you see Top of the Stairs Puppets at the Collie Christmas Pageant.

Check out these super cute DIY Christmas ball decorations.

You could use basic chicken wire to shape all sorts of decorations for your float in this year's Collie Christmas Pageant.

And for the floats, there are some great cash prizes up for grabs, with a first prize of $500, second prize of $250 and third prize of $150.

Floats assemble in Medic Street at 5.30 pm, opposite the Vintage Car Club, ready for the parade at 6 pm.

Bring the whole family down for this once-a-year grand street party - you will not be disappointed!

You could book into one of the casual places to stay for the night so that you could spend some more time in the South West area, which is always so popular and fascinating.

You can see some of the places to stay here.
