The Collector Village Pumpkin Festival is an annual event held on the first Sunday in May each year. This year it will be on Sunday 5th May 2019. This time will mark the celebration of 16 years of pumpkin fun in Collector!

The event was first held in the autumn of 2003 and since then it has grown to be one of the largest community events in the region. The colourful festival celebrates rural life as well as the country harvest season and this is done by using a unique pumpkin theme.

The festival is run by volunteers and all profits are given back to the local community.

This year, the Collector Village Pumpkin Festival will feature over 100 stallholders. There will be a lot of activities with the theme of a traditional country fair packed full of casual fun with a lot of colour and imagination.

This time they will introduce several new events, including cow milking demonstrations. Here you can watch them turn the milk into butter.

Also new this year will be free mechanical bull rides.

The festival showcases local produce and the arts/craft community. There are of course many pumpkin-focused competitions. These are put on every year and include such things as the largest pumpkin right through to pumpkin themed baked items.
