A brush with Tuscany
Some while ago, a group of like-minded artists and would-be artists decided to attend lessons held by Jana Vodesil-Baruffi when she first started to teach.

The group of Australian, Italian, New Zealand, Dutch Indonesian, and English students became friends and went in a body on Vodesil-Baruffi's first art trip to Tuscany where they stayed in a villa and went out daily to different towns to sight-see and to paint.

Staying in touch on their return the ladies went to an art exhibition at Houghton's Winery and, inspired by the visit, decided to hold one of their own with part proceeds going to charity.
The charity chosen for their support was the Make a Wish Foundation (the Foundation grants seriously ill children their most cherished wish).
The group chose the Foundation due to the fact that there are so many wishes and not enough money to grant them all. They have had to put a hold on new wishes which has disappointed a lot of children. The group are hoping their donation will help make some wish come true.
The name the group has chosen for the exhibition is "Collective Strokes". "We have quite a mix of styles from quirky to realistic and everything in between which I guess can be put down to everyone's different personalities and heritages," said group spokesperson Pam Day.

The exhibition runs at Houghton's Winery, 148 Dale Road, Middle Swan from Friday 1st November until Tuesday 26th November 2013 from 10am until 4pm.
The names of the artists involved are Pam Day, Mary Crawford, Corrie Dorant, Honor Lovis, Lorraine Hubbard, and Jan Waldeck.
