Various community organizations have joined hands together to reach out to underserved populations. This humanitarian collaboration paved the way to the formation of the Collaborative Communities Network or CCN. Its first project is to assist in the rehabilitation of earthquake victims in Nepal.
Spearheaded by the Filipino-Australian Multicultural Association, Inc. (FAMAS), a fundraising dinner at the Macedonian Community Centre in North Perth is organized to support CCN's Nepal project. According to FAMAS President Anita Kinkela, "FAMAS is the lead organisation for this year's event…. (we're) looking forward to work with other supporters and community organizations who are willing to join and help CCN endeavours". Kinkela adds that other organisations within the network will lead different projects each year.
The dinner dance will be held on August 1, 2015 from 6pm – 11:45pm. This night will also celebrate the inauguration of CCN and all proceeds will be donated to Nepal. "Your support and presence will be an important highlight of CCN inauguration on the night. Join us, have fun while at the same time helping those who are less fortunate".
Ticket price is $40.00 . There will be drinks on sale at the bar (no BYO). The dinner dance will include various activities such as a raffle draw, door prizes, silent auction and games. A live DJ is available and music will be provided by Jun June Oronce. Cedra Lucky 3 catering service will provide the food.
