Unlimited coffee - what more can you ask for?
Contrary to the generic name,'The Coffee School' is a win-win situation. What's awesome is not only the fact that you get a qualification required to progress in barista work, but that you also get a heck of a lot fun out of it. And yes, you get free coffee.
The subject today is The Coffee School, an organisation that operates around all states in Australia. Having gone to the Sydney branch, I can tell you that I was genuinely impressed.
Upon entering for your lesson, you are greeted by workers that are enthusiastic and welcoming. Don't be fazed by the small room, the coffee machines are all pristine clean and professional (see below). I was even given time to talk to other students.
But lo and behold this is not your first day of high school - it's coffee school! We are quickly shown a video that teaches the basics which are covered thoroughly and at just the right pace to keep you interested. By the end of it, I was just busting to just get started already!
The sessions then started, where we were instructed to make coffee and after lunch break, a coffee art session. The mentors walked around and made sure to give constructive and friendly advice. Before I knew it, the day was over, and I reluctantly had to leave a room that I had met a lot of people and above all had a lot on fun in.
