One of the stores that are located at Kyoto Economy Centre Suina-Muromachi, & Coffee Maison Kayser is a great place to enjoy a wide range of pastries and cakes. Many of their dishes can be selected from the display cases. Customers can request to have their orders warmed up.

Seemingly a new addition to the café during our visit, the Bacon and Egg Pastry notably included a poached egg as the filling, which to our delight still had a runny yolk. The bacon added a touch of smoky flavour and the pastry was quite light with a lovely crisp and golden brown exterior.





One of the hot dishes that can be ordered, their Curry Potato and Daisen Bacon Danish Toast gets its Japanese flair from the curry potato, which has a similar flavour to Japanese curry gravy. The Daisen bacon complemented the potato nicely and the dill pickles added some tanginess to the dish. Everything sat on a piece of toast that was toasted to the right degree and a drizzling of Japanese mayonnaise completed the dish.



Great for those wanting something sweet, the berry layer of the Tarte Monge was not too sweet. This cake had crisp layers of pastry that is similar to that of a Mille-feuille. The cream sandwiched in between the pastry layers was a key part of the dish's enjoyment as it did a good job of setting off the sweetness of the berry layer.



For something not as sweet, there is their Almond Croissant. We were delighted that the croissant had a good amount of buttery flavour and had enough almonds to provide some crunch. The almond filling had the right amount of almond flavour and was not too soft. It is advisable to eat this pastry slowly to avoid scattering the icing sugar that is dusted over the pastry all over yourself.



The location of the store makes it a convenient place to grab a bite to eat before or after shopping at the Suina-Muromachi.
