Outside of my recent foray into the exciting world of freelance writing, my day job takes me to a rather ordinary office in Brisbane's CBD. As I am sure many can relate to, work can sometimes become a little hum-drum. A morning or afternoon break to stretch the legs and clear the mind often becomes more of a necessity than a luxury.

For me, a morning or afternoon break that is not accompanied by a good coffee is no break at all. Unfortunately, some of the coffee offerings close to my office cannot be described as anything other than ordinary. Not terrible, but leaving a little to be desired. After sharing my lamentations with a colleague, I was providentially pointed in the direction of a little café called .

Coffee depot and its coffee is anything but ordinary.

Located at 33 Charlotte St Brisbane, offers the Australian roasted and UTZ Certified Piazza D'Oro coffee blends.

is well worth the longer walk from my office. The coffee is excellent and my usual cappuccino never disappoints. They offer all the standard coffee options, but will accommodate a multitude of variations so that everyone ends up with their perfect cup.

The coffee comes in small, regular and large sizes at $3.50, $4.00 and $4.50 respectively. All coffees also come with a complimentary biscuit, wafer, or fantail chocolate.

Apart from the ever dependable quality of its coffee, also stands out from its competition for a number of reasons.

Between 2:30pm and 3:30pm every weekday afternoon, offers a 2 for 1 coffee deal. Unsurprisingly, this often produces a long line-up of people taking advantage of the offer and can add up to 10 minutes to your wait time on busier days. But heck, who wouldn't wait a little longer for essentially half price coffee?

also offers a generous rewards card. Present your card at each visit and after buying 8 coffees you will get your ninth coffee and a piece of cake free. They also allow you to substitute the cake for a second free coffee.

When you put the rewards card and the 2 for 1 deal together, the money you'll save on your coffee will start to add up rather quickly.

If this doesn't convince you, also provides dine-in breakfast and lunch a la carte options and a huge range of takeaway meal options to cover any taste and price range. I can particularly recommend their range of frittatas, salads and handmade sandwiches for lighter but delicious take-away lunch options. The vegetable frittata and turkey and cranberry sandwich being some of my favourites.

Prices for frittatas, salads and sandwiches start from around $6.00.

Breakfast, lunch and catering for your next corporate event can also be ordered online here .

I cannot recommend this café highly enough. If you work in the CBD and wish to escape the ordinary, please give it a try. Your tastebuds and your wallet will thank you for it.
