Coffee Clubs are known as the 'place to meet' and the Wynnum store certainly has that in abundance. As a popular meeting spot for locals and visitors, it creates a lovely community vibe more akin to a seaside village. Children and mums were enjoying a relaxed breakfast during the school holidays on the morning I visited, with couples, businessmen and visitors all attracted to the cafe with its relaxed and friendly vibe. This is as much to do with the family-run franchise led by John and Kath, who have a hands-on approach to managing the store greeting and chatting with regular and new visitors.
The menu caters for all with the Eggs Benedict, a firm favourite as my taste test can confirm. The ample serving of two eggs was accompanied by a delicious hollandaise sauce, succulent bacon, grilled tomato on top of a toasted ciabatta.
My dining companion opted for a breakfast alternative of Chicken, Pumpkin & Pesto Flat Grill with the pesto marinated chicken, roast pumpkin, feta, cherry tomatoes and cheese toasted in a soft tortilla served with a fresh garden salad. 'Delicious' was her response and a great alternative to the traditional breakfast eggs serving.
Both dishes are part of the all-day breakfast and lunch menus with burgers, sandwiches, toasties and fresh salads on the diverse menus. There's even a 'brekky burger to go' option when you can order ahead to pick up.
Children are well catered for with a kids menu including eggs on toast, pancakes and their own special 'Smashed Avo on Toast'. And there are Vegetarian and Low Gluten options to cater for all.
A large selection of coffees and teas are on offer with smoothies and thickshakes to cater for all tastes. Wine, beer and spirits are also available to add to the relaxed nature of a lazy lunch. Check out the menu options on this website.
