All you need to know about your coffee is black, white, short or long. The rest leave to us and enjoy a great coffee." -
This statement rings true for a lot of coffee lovers around Adelaide. Our streets are saturated with chain store coffee outlets, amongst these independent is a welcome sight. It's not enough these days to just make a cup of coffee, you have to make it well.
can be found on Leigh Street, one of Adelaide's side streets that connects Hindley with Currie Street. Keep your eyes peeled because it is very neatly tucked away. Lattes, cappuccinos, short blacks, long blacks, and all those other fancy ones, these guys can do it and they'll do it with a smile. We were greeted by a very friendly barista dancing to the music and offered a seat on their comfy couch to "relax". It was the perfect hideaway on a rainy Adelaide day.
If you're concerned that you won't be able to enjoy because, well, you don't like coffee have no fear. Not only do they have a range of juices, soft drinks, and other hot drinks to enjoy but they also sport a varied selection of food for you to enjoy. Alongside the usual pastries to munch on while you sip your coffee they boast some very tasty food.
Some of the meal options that really stand out are the leek and gruyere tart, the sweet corn and fetta patties, and the pumpkin, pea, and chili risotto pie. To top it off all of these are served with an incredibly fresh tasting and refreshing mung bean salad. On my first trip I knew I had to try the risotto pie, and I was greeted by what looked like a multi-coloured muffin only to break into it and be greeted by steaming risotto.
To check it out for yourself head on down to Leigh Street. While you're there make sure you pick up a loyalty card, I guarantee it'll come in handy.
Coffees will set you back between $3 and $5.
Meals with mung bean salad are about $9.
