is located on the south side of the Swan River, overlooking the beautiful Perth city skyline. Thus it is expected that the restaurant will be fancy and expensive. Does it live up to the expectation?

Definitely.

Entering the restaurant immediately gives a feeling of confidence in the abilities of Coco's to deliver on service. Its popularity means that if you arrive earlier than your nominated time, you may be directed to wait at their bar which actually aids in helping you feel important.

The restaurant is quite open, enabling most tables a view of the beautiful Swan River and mood lighting makes the city skyline stand out. However, on a busy night (and I am yet to see this restaurant anything but busy), there is a rather loud hum that can make it difficult to hear your fellow diners. Funnily enough, Coco's previously had a dome in its ceiling that carried sound in such a way that it made it easier to hear your neighbour on the opposite side of the room than your friend. Thankfully, this has been rectified. However, the question is whether Coco's delivers the ambience and flavours worthy of its cost.



In case you have not picked it up, I have been to this restaurant a number of times so the food is obviously worthy. I do have a soft spot for the fries with the aioli dip and I would definitely recommend any diner grab a side of these. There is plenty on the menu for the seafood lover, probably not so much for those who prefer other meats. For the steak lover who judges a restaurant on their ability to cook their meat to the required rare, medium or well done, Coco's certainly does not fail. Portion size can be variable and it is worth asking the waitress whether you need a side with your meal or not. The dessert menu is fancy, expensive but delicious.

Coco's is a wine lovers dream with an extensive list of wines on offer, from the cheap to the insanely expensive.

Although many groups book into Coco's, I would suggest that it is probably better for bookings of 4 or less, based on the noise level in the restaurant. However, this hum also creates a great atmosphere for those on a romantic date as it provides privacy.

The position of the restaurant combined with the fanciness of the menu does justify the cost that you pay for dinner. Be prepared that you may not completely understand the menu unless you are used to fine dining.

Coco's restaurant is open 7 days a week, from 9am until late everyday apart from Sunday when it is open from 8am.
