Cocoa & Rose Cafe

Looking for lunch in the CBD?
Walking out of the CBD along Hay Street, the dining options thin out as you move further into East Perth.

Sure, there are a couple of sushi places and some cafes offering overpriced coffee but sometimes you want something other than whatever's left in the bain-marie.

Cocoa & Rose opened in 2014 but has recently had a few new additions to its menu, after one of the former owners moved on.

Many of the menu items that regulars have come to love are still available but the Nelson family have added dishes such as homemade meatballs on a bed of Thai quinoa salad- inspired by family recipes.

The cafe itself may look small from the street but inside there is plenty of seating and friendly staff.

Diners are met at the front counter with a good selection of sweet treats and the cafe offers all-day-breakfast and lunch as well as afternoon tea.

The lunch menu features items such as a grilled chicken salad with quinoa, feta, pomegranate and home-made dressing and the New York Reuben with in-house cooked corned beef, sauerkraut, swiss cheese and mustard dressing.

You'll also find some interesting drink options at Cocoa and Rose.

There is the American root beer float, a selection of healthy smoothies and some delicious sounding milkshakes such as chocolate Oreo, strawberries and cream, peanut butter deluxe and salted caramel.
