Being at the beach, surrounded by surf, sand and sunshine, tends to bring out our happy and healthy side. All that outdoor swimming, lazing on the beach, a quick game of cricket and an afternoon stroll by the water's edge can leave you a touch hungry and thirsty. That's where Coco Loco comes in.
Coco Loco Club is just the place to pop in for a quick snack or drink to help you rejuvenate. Coco Loco is tucked just around the corner from the Moffat Beach café strip in Roderick Street and just metres from the beautiful, ocean beachfront of "Moffs".
What does it mean to be Coco Loco? Well, if you lose your mind or goes absolutely crazy in response to an unexpected event, then you may well be 'coco loco'.
A place with an urban, beachy design The look of Coco Loco Club has a kinda cool Hawaiian feel with a bright rainbow palette including mint, pink, and apricot. It doesn't hurt that there is an orange hibiscus growing right outside either for inspiration.
With lots of colour and fun and a wicked mural, featuring the word (you guessed it) "ALOHA" on the inside wall, it's an Instagrammer's delight. Fancy a game of UNO? A deck of cards rest on the inside table if you run out of conversation or tire of reading updates on your phone.
Coco Loco Club doesn't have an abundance of seating areas but there is an indoor bench seat adjacent to the counter and 2 outdoor areas - with benches on the curbside and one at the side of the shop. Just enough of a funky resting space to grab a quick refreshment and get back to the beach action.
The Coco Loco menu oozes happy and healthy with freshly made juices, smoothies, acai bowls, gelato and sorbet, coffee and more. The menu also features sweet waffles, post-surf bagels and bagels with cream cheese and a display chest of the likes of dragon slayer raw treats.
For a cool, sweet sensation, the ice blocks from Frozen Sunshine and Gelato Sorbet from the Maleny Food Company are worth looking out for. It's enough to make you lose your mind.
I enjoyed a morning chai and fruit toast for my visit.
Pups aren't forgotten either. Don't forget to ask. for a free doggy treat which is are available at the counter. You can't help but savour the good mood, good food and good vibes in such a bright and cheery shop and wind up just a little Coco Loco. Good Vibes indeed.
