In the pristine location of Taylor Square sits an extraordinary establishment, Coco Cubano. This bar and café made its initial impressions on me a long time ago, mainly due to its continuously wonderful service and atmosphere. Not only is it convenient because of its location, but it's open til late every night and for as long as most clubs are on weekends.

I've always loved Coco Cubano for its adorable furniture, especially noticeable inside. You receive a wooden box when you order something and it's fun to look at and play with. Jugs of sangria are available for under $30 in both red and white. It's good value for money if you're with a bunch of friends. I also love the mojitos here and as we all know, mojitos can be such hit and misses. The ones here are very refreshing and well balanced.

Until recently, I'd never actually thought of ordering coffee and dessert here because I was so used to going to Coco Cubano at night. The mochas are beautiful, even in skim flavour.


If you look above, you can actually see the great degree of precision in how similar the decorations on both of the coffees even appear. I know that's not meant to be something important, but even small touches such as this remain imprinted in my mind about Coco Cubano.

Depicted below are the waffles with caramel sauce and ice-cream. I'm not that much of a sweet tooth, so I found the sauce to be a bit too much on the sweet side. My friend who is a sweet tooth found it to be perfect. I don't mean to put anyone off, I'm just the type of person who usually orders a cheese platter for dessert.



If you're ever around Taylor Square, be sure to step in here even if it's just to sit outside and watch passers-by or fade away from reality. You can find a really nice seat, sip your coffee and read your newspaper. The pricing is often value for money to moderate, especially given the location.

It's all about the decor, the service, delicious food, well-served alcohol and atmosphere. I highly recommend taking someone here on a casual friendly catch-up, a date or just to hang with a group of friends like I've done many times.
