The is a lovely little community market that celebrates the quaintly handmade, originally handcrafted and deliciously homemade. If you're planning a day at Emerald Lake Park, booking a ride on Puffing Billy, or just enjoying a meandering drive through the Yarra Ranges and surrounds, then be sure to pop the next market date on your calendar."We are very proud of our market and our little community. Every cent generated from each market goes back to the Community." - Tanya Burmeister, Market Organiser.

As we walked through the market it started raining, but luckily a number of stalls are in the community hall so in we went to admire the goodies under shelter. I loved the beautiful handmade crafts at a stall selling one-of-a-kind journals made from beautiful recycled and reclaimed materials. Margo makes amazing paper crafts, including bookmarks from the spines of old books. She specialises in making unique, personalised journals so if you need a special gift for someone that loves to document nostalgic memories on beautiful paper memoirs you can contact Margo to place your order. Another stall was selling beautiful handmade cards. Mass produced cards these days are so expensive and it's often difficult to find something unique and special, so I love finding handmade cards that are created to a very high standard, especially when they are well priced. Handmade cards are unique and can usually be custom made for that special someone. If you want a custom made card then Debbie Newey's cards can be pre-ordered at any market for pick up at the next.

Our next stop was a stall selling soy candles. Soy Vella is a family run business; dad was helping out at the market, while the mother and daughter team make the fragrant soy candles using 100% soy wax. My daughter bought a gorgeous Crème brûlée scented candle for her room. It smells amazing and I would have to say it is one of the best candles around in terms of the strength and quality of fragrance and burn time. Soy Vella are based in Werribee but sell regularly at the . Their website is www.soyvellacandlesaustralia.com

has many amazing homemade goodies to enjoy. Roz's Preserves has delicious preserves, jams and pickles and she sells out at every market. We bought some lovely Mango Chutney and tried some different varieties, like her delicious Pear Jam.

Australian Green Growers sell Certified Organic fruit and vegetables, Embellished Cakes sell delicious cupcakes, The Bake Station sell amazing freshly made frosted biscuits, California Kettlecorn sell popcorn on site in 6 different flavours, and The Purple Thistle serves homely Devonshire teas, homemade scones, shortbread and other tasty morsels. The Purple Thistle is the market's very own little café where you can stop and have a delicious cup of tea and a treat out of fine bone china tea cups and beautiful serving platters.

My daughter and I really loved the homemade goodies for sale at the Cuppa Sunshine stall. We bought a delicious Doughnut Muffin (tastes exactly like a cinnamon doughnut, only baked not fried), a Nutella Muffin, and a lovely chocolate slice. Yum! For more information about Cuppa Sunshine you can follow their Facebook page here

Snuggle Baby/With Love too makes gorgeous pocket pillows handmade for special little and big people to store precious little treasures in. Other stallholders sell olive oil, hydroponically grown herbal and functional tea, and individually designed wine glasses.

Dog Gone Healthy sell homemade, preservative free/chemical free, gluten free and wheat free doggy treats. They have varieties like 'Pookie's Pumpkn Crunch' which is loaded with vitamins and 'Benji's Bad Breath Busters'. Dog Gone Healthy are at every and you can visit their website on www.doggonehealthy.com.au

The Market is supported by Community Groups like The Hills Men's Shed, SES and CFA who all generally run the BBQ, and the local childcare centre made homemade soup for the market.
