The ambiance of this Red Hill café is the first thing that strikes you as you near it. With colourful windmills blowing happily in the sun and bright rainbow kites hanging from the awnings, you know that you're in for some healthy tasty treats inside.

Cockadoodle's breakfast and lunch menu offer a decent range of options including crepes, omelettes and toasted Turkish "yumbos" (or sandwiches to the rest of us). While the quality of the meals are very good and use fantastically fresh produce, the serving sizes are on the small side, especially for the price charged.

I ordered a vegetarian yumbo for $14 and got a small toasted sandwich on turkish bread. Granted it was packed full of fillings, but an hour after my meal I ended up across the road at the fish and chip shop for some hot chips to keep me going throughout the afternoon. The sandwich really needed to be either $5 cheaper, or come with a side of something.

The service at Cockadoodle was good with friendly and genuinely happy staff interacting with the customers. The coffee was spot on as well, I would definitely come back for an afternoon tea of coffee and cake- the baked goods looked divine!
