Not many fundraisers can boast about such enormous success and the fact that it has transformed so many lives. Since its inception in 2009, Coastrek has seen over 23,000 trekkers and hikers take up the challenge and transform their lives. In the last 9 years, the event has raised nearly $20 million for the Fred Hollows Foundation, that is doing incredible work in restoring eyesight to thousands around the world.

Coastrek is being held across 4 Australian cities.

Coastrek Sydney - Friday 16th March 2018

Coastrek Melbourne - Friday 25th May 2018

Coastrek Sunshine Coast - Friday 27 July 2018

Coastrek is a 30 km or 60 km team trekking challenge. Teams of 4, aged over 16, with at least 50% women can register and train for 12 weeks leading up to the event. The 12 week training programme is designed to rejuvenate and energise oneself while getting ready to take on the challenge.

With beautiful coastlines, hidden coves and particularly amazing views, the thrilling 30 km challenge and the super 60 km path will take the hikers on some of the best paths along the coast in their cities. Once you discover the beautiful outdoors, you might never want to go back to training indoors.

The Sydney Coastrek 60 km challenge starts at Manly and will be joined at Kirribilli by the 30km hikers all the way to Bondi. The Melbourne Coastrek will be across the Mornington Peninsula and in Sunshine Coast, the path will be from Maroochydore/Caloundra to Noosa.

With such scenic coastlines and the promise to get healthy and fit, the Coastrek presents a fantastic opportunity to anyone up for a challenge. Exercise releases the happy hormones and with a chance to support a great cause like the Fred Hollows Foundation, the challenge is one of the most unique ways to combine fun, fitness and charity.

Coastrek is an initiative by Wild Women On Top . Di Westaway began WWOT in 2002 and has inspired so many others to get off the couch and into the beautiful open that we are blessed with all around us. Di is inspirational and very passionate about health and fitness and the Fred Hollows Foundation. Putting the two together is nothing but a winning combination. If you missed the deadline for this year's Coastrek, you can still make a difference by showing your support to one of the trekkers. Log on to the website to look up the teams and trekkers and donate to this worthy cause.
