On my venture down to Brunswick Heads one Saturday morning I came across a unique market stall,
Coast Cold Brew. I hadn't heard of cold brew coffee before. I guess when you think of brew you think of beer or ginger beer but no it is definitely coffee! And, being a lover of coffee I was intrigued and interested to learn more.
I met Jules, the wife of one of the owners of Coast Brew Coffee at the markets. Jules makes a fabulous hostess, passionate and full of enthusiasm.
Coast Cold Brew is owned by 3 coffee barons: Craig Andrew (the roaster who is responsible for the fantastic taste), Matt Kane and Jules' husband, Trevor Lynn.

Where did the idea come from you may ask? Well Craig's wife was in New York and found the perfect gift for her husband, cold brew coffee. He loved it so much, and being the coffee fanatic that he is, an idea brewed (pardon the pun). Craig perfected his own roast, ending up with what they call coffee perfected - 100% natural energy. Coast Cold Brew was born approximately 1 year ago and has been educating coffee drinkers ever since.

Coast Cold Brew Coffee
At Coast Cold Brew they source quality, organic beans which are roasted and grinded. In fact they are the only roaster specialising in cold brew coffee. Every batch is made by steeping freshly roasted organic coffee grounds in cold water for 18 hours then filtered to produce a smooth and bold coffee sensation with no bitter after taste.
Coast Cold Brew can be mixed with milk or water, served over ice or just steaming hot. Refrigerated, Coast Cold Brew Coffee is fresh for 1 month, so there is no waste, which means you can drink what you want when you want it.
Brewed locally on the Gold Coast at Burleigh Heads, I have been trialling it the last 2 weeks and in three words, "I love it!" I just love a nice full bodied coffee and this just hits the spot. Nothing better than a nice cool iced coffee on a steamy hot Gold Coast day and lately, we have had many of these! I have found another use for it too (and there many uses), a beautiful summer dessert, coffee granita. Check out their
Facebook page for some great recipes and ideas for this coffee sensation.
At $20 for 1 litre, Coast Cold Brew is exceptionally great value and would make a fabulous gift for the coffee connoisseur.
