The Coal Loader Centre for Sustainability has launched a FREE digital kids walking trail.
Join 'Billy the Bat' as he leads you through this exceptional site and uncover its indigenous and industrial history, learn about its sustainability features and see native plants, food gardens, bats and chickens.
This mobile-friendly, walk-at-you-own-pace trail is a great way to get kids exploring the outdoors and keeping the whole family engaged. It can be accessed by visiting thecoalloader.com.au.
Visitors who take the trail will be led to an Aboriginal rock engraving, find some interesting facts about the site's original coal loading facility and learn about the local native animals – the Eastern Bent Wing bats, that live in tunnel 4.
The Coal Loader is a leading sustainability demonstration site for the community. North Sydney Mayor Jilly Gibson said the Coal Loader Centre for Sustainability is a truly unique site with a lot to offer. "The Coal Loader Centre is a precious community facility that has quickly risen in popularity since its opening in 2011," Mayor Gibson said.
"The site delves into our past, present and future. It has indigenous roots and rich local history, a natural anchor for biodiversity and its overarching function of teaching sustainable practices will help us to make a better tomorrow for our world.
"This new kids trail is sure to keep the family entertained while spending some quality time together."
The trail is FREE and suitable for a wide range of age groups. Check it out today at thecoalloader.com.au
