Want to party while making a real difference? Non-profit Co-Ground, a Melbourne-based volunteer led social enterprise, allows you to do just that. The young and enthused team specialises in supporting education partnership programs, both in Australia and overseas.
The Co-Ground Launch on Friday June 3rd at 1000 £ Bend will feature the eclectic analogue electro of Myami, Masco Sound System, an act that mixes live music and painting, and the heavy brooding hip-hop of producer Headstone, alongside Motel Diablo DJ's, plus some very special guests and performances.
The night will raise money for Co-Ground's next venture in social enterprise and help launch their month long Crowd-funding Campaign to generate the funds needed to kick-start it into action! The social enterprise will support much needed education programs on a day-to-day basis, through which we can create a sustainable organisation to alleviate poverty and promote education world-wide.
Co-Ground was conceived in May 2015 in response to Cyclone Pam, a category five storm that tore through Vanuatu affecting 160,000 people, with many of the island nation's schools left devastated. A year later the organisation has received the 2015 UNCH Anti-Poverty award through raising much needed support for Sara Primary School on Epi Island in Vanuatu. By rebuilding classrooms, updating supplies and implementing support programs with local Australian Primary schools, we have since grown to 30 passionate volunteers.
This is a one night only event and will be sure to have you getting down for a great cause.
