Now in one location in Australia we have the unique tag of being Australia's only booktown.

Our own booktown now comes alive filled with everything to do with the love of reading and writing. It is located in the gold mining hills of country Victoria.

The international booktown of Clunes is one of only 17 around the entire world.

It is a place where bookshops and collectible stores abound, along with cellar doors, cafes and fabulous B&Bs, all set to become part of this historical backdrop of an early colonial street scape.

Over 60 visiting traders will descend each year into this amazing town, gathering together second hand, new and collectible books from all around australia.

Whilst you are dedicating your weekend to this love of reading, you can also partake of excellent food and wine from local growers and producers.

Clunes Booktown Festival occurs in May each year, come up for the day or make a weekend of it. If you are planning to stay, get in early with your bookings as it is extremely popular this weekend.
