Throughout the year, locals and visitors head to Horseshoe Bay in Port Elliot to enjoy a walk, a swim or just the beautiful view.

The Flying Fish Cafe offers fish and chips, ice creams and drinks and even
a dine-in option for those seeking sustenance.
The brand new, recently opened, Port Elliot Surf Club also offers refreshments from Thursday till Sunday, and on public holidays, during the afternoons.

Nestled in the lower half of the new building is a hole-in-the-wall cafe called 'Clubbies'

It's open every day during the summer holidays, from early morning until early evening, offering great coffee and tasty snacks.

Otherwise, there are croissants and freshly-made muffins to choose from.

Those needing a little more to eat will be tempted by toasties, baguettes, salads, sausage rolls or the 'Beach Box' grazing platter.
The
plat de résistance, however, is The Crayfish Sanga; a generous amount of summer-fresh crayfish, crisp lettuce and tangy mayo, sandwiched between two extra-thick slices of soft, white bread from the famous local bakery. With a lobster leg and a lemon wedge to top it off.

Clubbies' Crayfish Sanga
With a price point of $25, The Crayfish Sanga is probably more an indulgence than a regular lunch item but life is short, so why not indulge?
My lunch companion chose a more modestly priced sushi roll, only to find himself compelled to try a sizeable bite of my sanga. He's lucky I'm a good sharer!

Clubbies' opening hours may change towards the end of January, so check before you go. You'll be rewarded with fresh, delicious food and a view to delight your eyes.
