For under $10, you too can order this beautifully plated and delicious vegetarian dish at Club Mandalay cafe and Restaurant in Beveridge.
I love my gnocchi (or potato dumplings!) especially when they come out presented alla Heston! The potato gnocchi was beautifully plated and poached in beetroot reduction, Tooborac "Woodcutter Amber Ale" soil, crème fresh, button mushrooms and sorrel with carrot and ginger puree... even the lavish ingredients are a mouthful.
The dish had a wonderful sweet flavour, probably from the carrot or beetroot flavours. The dish only comes in an entree size, but as the potato dumplings are quite filling it was enough as I had to leave room for dessert.
You could even order this dish for dessert if you weren't keen on having anything too sweet!
