Upon checking out the little blurb on the Adelaide Fringe website, I came across two words that instantly had me sold on watching - "Batman Cabaret". Being a huge cabaret lover and an ever bigger DC comics fangirl, this show was everything that I expected it to me and more!

Think of your favourite heroes and supervillains in raunchy, seductive, and the ever-so-dazzling costumes and makeup. Flooding with talent, this show presents an overlap of notable characters from their other show - Dawn of JustAss: A Dc Comics Burlesque Tribute - such as The Joker (played by Hugo Fielke) The Riddler (played by Desert Rose), Harley Quinn (played by Die-Lyla Dash), Miss Freeze (played by Moisty Magic), Catwoman (played by Diana Divine), and Poison Ivy (played by Cyd Starling).

As each character graced the stage, slowly but surely, they started to shed the layers on them, which in turn, revealed a more promiscuous and alluring side to them as we had never known existed. Tassels, sequin, and frills were just some of the cheeky assortments that left us titillated. There were some with voices that shook the room and tantalized our ears, while others presented with flexible movements that almost made our spines tingle with excitement. It doesn't matter what part of the show we focus on in particular, because there was always something that captured our attention and left us wanting more.

This is also a show that expects you to dress to impress, so whether you're a pop culture whiz, a DC fanboy / fangirl, or simply love to be in elegant and exquisite company, make sure you are well-versed in the key superheroes and villains from our beloved city of Gotham and prepare for a night that will bedazzle your world. And don't forget to smile - The Joker will love you for that!

While this show may have ended for the Adelaide Fringe season this year, we can only hope to see this dynamic team return next year for more DC (and particularly Gotham) - fueled entertainment.
