Along with the bistro next door, the Club Bar is one of the two dining places located in Mawson Lakes Hotel. Compared to the bistro, The Club Bar offers a more affordable choice for those looking to eat Australian cuisine staples. Despite serving as a main place to drink, the ambience is still very welcoming, with a good amount of seating available.

The Club Bar offers a good range of dishes, some with the low price of $9.90. Among them is the fettuccine bolognese, a variation of spaghetti bolognese in which the flat noodle-like fettuccine is used in place of spaghetti to accompany the meat-based bolognese sauce. Ironically, fettuccine resembles a thicker version of tagliatelle, the traditional pasta served with bolognese sauce. The pasta was cooked al dente and the rich bolognese sauce was a good companion for it. The shaved Parmesan cheese sprinkled on the pasta helped to round out the flavour of the dish without overpowering it.



For a place that mainly serves Australian food, the Club Bar also offers curry that is enjoyable to Asian taste buds. The type of curry varies daily and some options can be surprisingly spicy, so be warned if you are not used to spicy food. While the pappadums were a bit disappointing, the beef curry had tender chunks of beef with curry gravy that gave it a distinct spicy zing. The rice served with it was light and fluffy. Chicken curry is one of the milder offerings, with chicken that was tender and gravy that was not too spicy.





Club Bar also serves a variety of chicken and beef schnitzels, of which mega-sized versions are available as part of the 'Mawson's Mega Challenge'. The chicken schnitzel I ordered was fried to golden brown with the crisp coating contrasting wonderfully with the perfectly cooked meat. The pepper sauce I chose to top the schnitzel with had the right amount of pepper flavour and the chips were cooked just right. If you like something a bit fancier, a variety of toppings can be added for a little extra cost.



Their beef burger had a juicy beef patty that is complemented nicely by the cheese, tomatoes and lettuce. It also comes with a serving of chips that was done as well as the ones served with the chicken schnitzel. Chicken and steak burgers are also available, as well as a more hearty beef burger with additional fillings if you are particularly hungry.



There is ample parking around the bar, including undercover parking just for hotel guests and people dining at either the bistro or bar.
