Cloverlea Cottage (formerly Mt Glorious Cafe and Restaurant) is located in Mt Glorious village tucked just off the main road. The restaurant has wonderful sweeping views back to Moreton Bay. We were shrouded in an eerie mist upon arriving, which cleared to a most beautiful and relaxing view.
We were warmly greeted and was offered a table by the window overlooking the view. After a quick look at the menu, we each had decided what to order. The menu was quite varied and offered many yummy sounding dishes.
The meals arrived quickly and we were very impressed with their look, size and taste. My husband ordered the salt and pepper calamari, which he was very happy with.
The restaurant is open for breakfast on the weekends and lunch most days and dinner on Friday night. It is licensed and has a good list of wines. The dessert menu also looked rather nice but the size of our lunches left no room for dessert. Maybe next time it will be coffee and cake...
The restaurant offers both indoor dining and dining out on the deck which is subjected to the weather, but has the best views.
Mt Glorious is surrounded by the D'Aguilar National Park and has a number of bushwalks and lookouts which can help to either work up an appetite or to burn off those calories. The temperature up in the mountains was noticeable cooler by about 5 degrees, which maybe another reason to venture here during Summer.
We went here for lunch as a small group of about 10 of us a couple of months ago. Took us over an hour to get there from the Eastern suburbs but we thoroughly enjoyed our meals and it was a lovely spot for a day out. I can certainly recommend this venue too. Pity you didn't get to sample the desserts Sherrie. We made room and they too were delicious. Maybe next time.
