What to know what a Bananostrich is?
In the sequel to 'Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs,' Inventor Flint Lockwood and his friends are relocated from their home town to San Franjose, California after surviving near decimation in the original animated film.
A mass clean-up has been organised and Flint's childhood idol, Master inventor Chester V from the ideas company Live Corp (E-V-I-L spelt backwards) is on the job.
With the speed of a takeaway order all residents are evacuated, waiting to return to an inhabitable existence.
Chester V's egotistic and scheming ways are yet to be uncovered. He persuades Flint to accept the move, offering him a career that is supposed to keep him 'none the wiser.'
Flint is determined to impress and needed more than he knows, so he sets to work creating new masterpieces. Another great show-stopper, his 'Party-In-A-Box' invention, seems like it has nothing to give until the final scene.
Although ultimately intelligent, his gullible nature means six months pass by before he is re-recruited to assist in a failing recovery operation.
Flint discovers his best creation ever, the F.L.D.S.M.D.F.R., is ineradicable, still fully functional and serving up even more colourful food to the island of Swallow Falls.
The ingenious machine, short for 'Flint Lockwood Diatonic Super Mutating Dynamic Food Replicator,' which turns water molecules into food has gone from food weather phenomenon to producing an eco-system with real food animals – or FOODIMALS.
There's giant food everywhere, including cheespider, tacodile, watermelophant, hippotatomus, bananostrich, flamango, wildebeet and cantalope, to name a few. Pickle, sweet, sour & dill love sardines and fish with Flint's Dad Tim as he waits on the boat.
Meanwhile, Chester V continually wields his revered position with Flint. Attempting to keep Flint's friends at arm's length, convince him the foodimals are dangerous creatures and use him to complete the fake mission.
An aptly named 'BS USB' is given to Flint by Chester V to reprogram the F.L.D.S.M.D.F.R. The villain wants to claim the ultimate invention for himself and update the upcoming version of his Food Bar; using live foodimals!
Protagonist Flint and the team; Sam Sparks, Steve, Manny, Brent, Earl, Tim, Barry the strawberry and an unlikely hero 'monkey' Barb who is really half human, half orangutan work together to stop him.
This family movie has it all - laughs for everyone, including discreet jokes for the adults, healthier food and an energised atmosphere.
Trivia: Let's not forget the starring voices in the movie, which has grossed more than $250,000,000 at the box office.
Fun games can be found on the interactive official website. The film is due for release on DVD in Australia 28th January, 2014.
