A senior lesbian couple embark on a life changing road trip
Dotty (Brenda Fricker) and Stella (Olympia Dukakis) are a happy lesbian couple with such a strong bond. They have been able to remain together into their later years.

A perfect example of polar opposites, Stella is rough, outspoken and funnily aggressive, whilst Dotty is naïve, reserved and childish.
When Dotty is forced by her granddaughter (Kristin Booth) to go to a nursing home due to her visual impairment, the pair embark in a life changing road trip to Nova Scotia so they can finally get married and never be separated again.
In order to avoid police targeting them, the couple pick up a young hitchhiker (Ryan Doucette) and the landscape, adventures, accidents and tricky situations create a tight and unique bond between the three of them.
Cloudburst is a heart warming film. The scenery, acting and story line will have you laughing, shedding tears of joy and sadness and overall it will awaken you to the force of love and the fierceness of commitment.
Cloudburst will absorb you and make you feel attached to the characters within the first few minutes, a must see!
