There's something truly juicy about checking out your friend's wardrobe. About searching through her dresses and accessories and trying on her skirts and shoes - there's something delicious about finding those pieces that look just as fabulous on you as they do on her. "Oh! I thought only she could pull of knitwear!" or "Yes! We wear the same size heels! Can I borrow these for that wedding next weekend?" It's almost as if fossicking through your friend's clothing brings you both closer to one another. Boundaries are crossed, but that's ok. Items are judged, but that's ok too because there's a deeper, fresher intimacy between the two of you now and with each new piece discovered in the wardrobe, it only grows stronger.
Coming on the 18th of October is just the opportunity to go through your friend's clothing at the 'Clothed in Splendour' clothes swap, hosted at Edwardstown Baptist Church in St Marys. The event was created for women of all ages with food, entertainment, a fashion show, and of course, the clothes swap part of the evening. There is also a fantastic guest speaker on the night, Larissa Jones. Larissa is a makeup artist and counsellor with a passion for young women to understand the ins and outs of inner beauty and self worth. Tickets are $10 and are available from the church beforehand, but also at the door on the day of the event. Your ticket entitles you to 3 items of clothing from the clothes swap plus some delicious supper. You can also purchase further items on the night for a gold coin donation if 3 items just isn't enough!
