I'm a grandmother, a retired teacher, an avid reader who loves historical re-enactment, English Country Dance, writing and Op Shopping. My business www.StepIntoHistory.com.au is designed to help children experience history through school incursions.
Need a clock? If you can't find one here you are hard to please. From magnificent grandfather clocks to sleek modern models this shop is packed to the brim with truly marvellous clocks.

Walls of clocks

Modern clocks available too.
Their specialty is cuckoo clocks; walls and walls of cuckoo clocks of all sizes to choose from. I asked the owner how often people took to decide which clock to buy. He said very often someone's eye was taken by a particular clock and that after looking around they frequently came back to the first choice.
I couldn't resist a weather house just like my grandma used to have. According to the shop owner, they predict the weather very reliably. The Herr (gentleman) comes out when it's rainy, the Frau (lady) for fine weather.

What's the weather like today?
There was a whole section of toys of all sorts - from wooden puppets on strings and games, including an old fashioned spinning top, to a huge range of plastic animals.

An unusual gift for the children in your life.

Lots of tunes.
Check out the beer steins, glasses, salt and pepper shakers, hats, suspenders, and lots of Christmas decorations.

Elegant beer steins.
I was intrigued by stamped cutting boards and rolling pins. The rolling pins have a raised pattern and the boards are indented with the pattern. Looks like something fun could be cooked.

Cute cutting boards.
Next time you're at Montville be sure to visit.
