Tick Tock Thank God it's Friday
Coming to the end of the week and all you want to do is just relax and recuperate after a long hard week at work. You then wake up and it is Monday morning already. Straight away you start counting the days, the hours till you reach Friday. That is how much you like your job, either that or your birthday is coming up and you do not want to make a big deal out of it and wish to celebrate it on a quieter note with a handful of friends. You have chosen The Clock Hotel, how ironic yet a perfect idea it is.
Situated on a somewhat quiet street in Surry Hills, an area that has a semi-residential feel and a homemade social scene, you would not think that this hotel has much to offer, well not until you enter. Let me tell you that it is not what I expected, but then again, I'm not a fan of pubs in general, but this hotel gave a different vibe with an interior design completed with a trendy setting. Not only is this place trendy, but somehow they managed to give it a bit of a vintage look with some of their features and furniture that decorate the place.
Some of these features include furniture like the framed mirror piece that sits in a small corridor and has a gorgeous vintage light that hangs over the top, giving the walkway a bit of a lift as you walk past. There is also a vintage-looking bedhead piece which is a delight to observe when you pass by. Aside from the furniture, the hotel is made up of an indoor and an outdoor area that satisfies all seasons of the year. In addition to their setup, they hold functions as a result for all occasions, birthdays, Christmas parties etc. If you are going to hang out, this place offers food and drinks that will impress you. Their menu offer a whole selection of delicious food, such as your favourite pizza, ranging in price between $20-22, pasta, and stretches to burgers priced at $21 and steaks like fillet $30. If you work in the area or are looking for somewhere to go to meet some friends, they have a happy hour that runs from Monday to Friday between 5-7pm. They also have lunch deals or meal deals that they offer on certain days of the week. This just keeps getting better!
Something that sets this place apart from your standard pub is their Whisky Room. No you read that correct and are not seeing things. They have The Whisky Room - a seated area that is specially for drinks. Get this, it is a specified menu that brings together a whole selection of drinks from around the world and it will have you blown away. Drinks come from everywhere such as France, Ireland, Canada, New Zealand and many more destinations. It makes a great idea for that intimate birthday or a group hang out. You can book a table to assure that you are not left standing if you are planning to visit on a weekend, After all, who does not want to sample drinks from an exotic country that they may never get a chance to visit.
