No more next day bar tab surprises
We've all been there, keen to head out to catch up with friends or colleagues and realised that we've forgotten to take out cash. So you need to duck out to find a local ATM or juststart a tab and leave your credit card (and oftentimes your photo ID) behind the bar. Not exactly the safest practice but we've all been there.
Or worse yet, after a big night out you wake up the next morning to discover you've spent WAY more than you anticipated.
Recently, I was fortunate enough to pop into a new Melbourne venue that's recently signed on to use a new smartphone app called Clipp.
Downloading Clipp onto your phone makes it so much easier to track how much you've spent on a night out.
The idea is so simple, it's genius, you simply download the app onto your smartphone (for free) and register your account, attaching your credit card or Paypal information. Then head out to your favourite participating venue and in Melbourne there's LOADS.
The app can even geo-track you to see what venues are nearby (many of which offer special deals such as 40% off your bill) to sweeten the deal for using Clipp.
Find your favourite local bar or pub and start your tab. Clipp also reccomends local places offering deals for app users.
Once you arrive at your destination, go into the app, open up your tab, get your tab number and order as you normally would.
You can even invite friends to join your tab and your phone will give you automatic updates when something is charged to your tab, keeping track of your spend and ensuring there's no surprises at the end of the night.
Just set your spending limit, get your tab number and order as you normally would.
