Family fun and bargains at this classic school fete
With its mild sunny days and fragrant floral blooms, spring has always been Australia's favourite time of the year for fetes, fairs and community festivals. Although the season is drawing to a close, throughout Melbourne there are still many special events that are taking advantage of the idyllic weather, providing pleasure-seekers and shoppers alike with somewhere fun and affordable to take the family, and a local market-place where miscellaneous goodies can be purchased often for a fraction of the price of similar items at large trendy craft and vintage markets. One fabulous event that's taking place on Saturday, November 21st is the Clifton Hill Primary School Fair a classic school fete that is raising funds to upgrade the school's art room and IT facilities.

Taking place in one of Melbourne's most vibrant and dynamic locales, Clifton Hill Primary School Fair will be the perfect spot to head for to enjoy a fabulous family day out. For those who would like to get a head start on their Christmas shopping, there will be numerous market stalls with loads of great bargains. Those with a penchant for handmade wares will love the large craft stall which will be purveying an awesome range of beautiful items such as jewellery, accessories, toys, decorations and heaps of other super gift ideas. Other school fete favourites will include a plant stall, second-hand books, cakes, preserves, bric-a-brac, clothes, music, refreshments, and plenty of other cool stuff. There will also be a terrific silent auction an event that apparently even attracts bidders from interstate.

If you're the parent of a brood of bright active youngsters, you'll be glad to learn that there is also plenty for children to see and do at the fair. There'll be carnival rides for the thrill-seekers, games, farm animals and face-painting, to name just a handful of the day's attractions. There will also be great family entertainment up on the stage throughout the day, including school music groups and local indie cover band, the Bin Night Romeos. For those who want to show off their best dance moves, the Silent Disco is an attraction they won't want to miss.

In a nutshell, if you're looking for a fun affordable event that offers great entertainment for people of all ages, a visit to the Clifton Hill Primary School Fair is something that you'll definitely want to jot into your social planner. Offering everything from fairy floss and snow cones to gourmet delicacies and fabulous handmade wares, this classic school fete offers something for everyone, from the littlest child to the oldest matriarch. Best of all, all the proceeds go towards a very good cause, specifically to up-grade the school's art and IT facilities.
