CLT is the latest edition to what I would refer to as Adelaide's "Melbourne Scene". This cosy little Wine Bar popped up almost out of nowhere as of April this year. I happen to work on Peel Street, and to me it appeared like a mirage in the distance. Adelaide has been thirsty for something like this for a long time coming and finally the quality watering hole is here.
Clever Little Tailor oozes sophistication, taste and romance. From the dim lighting to the smell of coal fires, CLT is Peel Street's best kept secret. Located next to Leigh Street baring the likes of Casablabla and Udaberri, Clever Little Tailer breathes a life of its own. Walking down the dank and dark Peel Street you might think you've taken a wrong turn considering its run down appearance and film noir feel but hidden away in the middle of Peel is CLT.
While CLT can be compared to the likes of Udaberri it manages to maintain a more homely energy with a cosy, friendly atmosphere. However in saying that it may also be seen as a bit of a downfall, CLT boasts quality but it's certainly quality of quantity as the place only holds a maximum of 70 people and can often be difficult to get a seat depending on the night.
This "Quality Liquor Bar" certainly does serve a fine wine, and it's not necessarily a cheap drop. I wouldn't suggest this venue to anyone looking for somewhere cheap to have a couple of drinks or engage in a rowdy night out.
I can sense this place becoming the new hipster hot-spot, so get in quick and check out this perfect little hole in the wall.
