Can't touch your toes? These guys will sort you out
You know it when it happens – you wake up every morning grumpy. Your limbs are stiff. You haven't been able to touch your toes in years. It's time for something drastic. It's time for a yoga retreat.
Clearview Retreat is a really lovely way to get back into exercise and healthy eating in one of the most stunning locations in Victoria, Kerrisdale, an hour and a half north of Melbourne. It's located in a mountainous area of Victoria in the King Parrot Valley overlooking the Upper Goulburn River, the King Parrot Creek and the Yea River. You'll be off the electricity grid here, so you can really feel like you're getting away from it all, especially if you go sans mobile phone and laptop.

Owners Jocelyn Bennett and Paul Macgregor are the hosts and arrange everything. The food is home-cooked and mainly home-grown from their own garden, so it's a great opportunity to detox and re-nourish your body.
A number of different teachers from Melbourne and surrounds hold their retreats at Clearview, so you'll have a range to choose from including more energetic Vinyasa flow retreats, to more healing, soothing and regenerative getaways.
Probably the best thing about Clearview is the absolutely stunning view. The yoga room has floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking a deep valley. On cold mornings, mist will dramatically hover over the depths of the valley, while sunny days and a clear sky are really inspiring and will launch you into your yoga practice. You'll see some dramatic sunrises and sunsets that you may never forget.

Another highlight of the retreat is Paul's nature walk. He'll take you through a journey of the property, explain its Aboriginal history, point out some passing kangaroos, and explain how he and Jocelyn are regenerating the land. Jocelyn will take you through a tour of a tea tree forest, and also run sessions on conscious eating.
