How turtley awesome is this! The countdown is on for all the little turtle hatchlings to leave their nests and start their ocean journey - such a big event for such little creatures. I know Sunshine Coasters would be keen to help Nature's precious little bundles reach the ocean, and what better way to do this than ensuring the turtle hatchlings have a clear run all the way down to the water.
The 2019 beach clean-up will be targeting small hard plastics, which directly impact the hatchling-size turtles, but in saying this, ALL waste will be collected at multiple locations across the coast.
6.00am - 7.30am Meet at your registered beach clean-up location for sign on with the co-ordinator; 8.00am - 10.00am Meet back at La Balsa Park in Buddina for a FREE BBQ breakfast, activities, raffles and prizes and of course, to weigh and sort your debris!
What to bring?
Please bring your own gloves, a chair, closed shoes and plenty of water in reusable water bottles - this is a single-use plastic-free event. Please ensure that your clothing is sun-safe.

Come on, Sunny Coasters, it's time to not just 'talk the talk', but to 'walk the walk' with a good clean-up of our beaches. Let's share the love for our home and our wildlife, by getting together and cleaning up for the turtle hatchlings and giving them a really good start in life.
