Join in the fight to improve and conserve the beautiful landscape of our cities and towns in this year's Clean Up Australia Day on Sunday 2 March 2025.



First held in 1990 by environmental campaigner and passionate yachtsman, Ian Kiernan AO , this simple but ingenious community-based environmental initiative has grown into an annual national event. What's special is that everyone can help collect garbage and waste that pollutes our streets, parks, waterways, beaches, and surroundings.

From fast food to fashion, cigarettes, and containers, you can help clean up the discarded products cluttering and damaging the environment. Here is a snapshot of the extent of the problem,



This year's collection is particularly special as it marks the 35th Anniversary of Clean Up Australia Day. What a great achievement. Clean Up continues to help create an informed, concerned, committed, and involved community - sharing Ian Kiernans' passion for safeguarding Australia's precious asset, its environment. Ian's daughter Pip Kiernan has carried on his legacy and continues as the Chair of Clean Up Australia.

Register now to make the maximum impact. Gather friends and communities together to create a Clean Up team or join an existing team to lend a hand. Clean Ups are designed to encourage everyone to get involved, making it easy for Schools (pre-school, primary, and secondary), the community, and businesses to make a contribution.
