On 23 February 2014, Clayton will come alive with the Clayton Street Festival. On its 12th year, this festival will be bigger and better than ever.

The festival will kick off at 12pm on 23 February 2014. The main street of Clayton will be the site for the festival and will incorporate a remarkable line-up of events for both young and old. The festival will feature a festival parade at 4pm. The parade will start from Centre road and will weave its way through the festival to the Flavours of Monash Hawkers Night Market.

Other highlights will incorporate cultural dance performances by eminent artists and performers, school presentations and so forth. There will be a Kids Zone where little ones will be spoilt with free kid's rides, interactive play, craft activities and stage entertainment. An interactive Youth Zone will enable children to let their creativity shine by participating in music, art and dance competitions.

The Clayton Street Festival will include an Enviro Zone where a Dirtgirl activity workshop will be organised. A special attraction will be an appearance by Dirtgirl herself! For those of you who don't know, Dirtgirl is an animated character from the children's TV show DirtGirlWorld which promoted environmental awareness in children. Dirtgirl is a gumboot wearing girl who grows delicious tomatoes, knows the names of clouds, drives a big orange tractor and has many backyard friends.

There will be roving entertainment and community and trader displays. The Monash Hawkers Night Market will have an effervescent presence from 5pm to 8pm. This market will promote the annual Flavours of Monash program. Flavours of Monash is a cultural development project that has developed into a staple program and represents the strong link between food and culture.
This market will take over the car park off Haughton Road East. Strode to the market to sample delicious treats and savour multicultural cuisines. A family friendly cultural program on stage in the Hawkers Night Market will entertain visitors. Get some food and drinks, find a suitable spot and get comfortable with great music and wonderful company.

Clayton road is minutes away from Clayton Railway Station. Just take a Pakenham/Cranbourne train and get off at Clayton Railway Station. Buses 630, 900, 800, 631, 733, 703 will all take you to Clayton road. If you opt for a car then parking is available in the nearby Clayton Shopping Centre parking area.
