A new place to experience coffee at its best

Nowadays, you can get coffee almost everywhere. Literally, from the Petrol Station. But if you are a real coffee lover, you don't just drink coffee. You experience it. And this is what this place is about.

CLAY Coffee Collective is a Cafe in the heart of Gerringong, where you instantly feel the good vibes as soon as you walk in. The coffee aroma will inevitably awake your need to ask for at least, one cup. (Notice I said 'at least')

Matthew Kennedy, the owner and Barista, has a Master in Chemistry. You'll think that has nothing to do with you, until you sip on your perfectly well-balanced latte. Believe me, it's just beautiful!

I tried the Maverick Blend. It has hints of Peach, Marmalade and Butterscotch. Maverick is a complex and bright blend designed to cut through milk, and it features a perfect combination of strong acidity and sweetness. This one is original from Latin America.

While waiting for my coffee, I was wandering around observing how beautiful the little details are: the cardholders, the lamp shades and cups are really unique pieces of art.

So I had to ask where to get them.

Australian artist Brigita Hammel is the responsible for all the pottery in CLAY. A little corner is set for everybody to have a look at her work: plates, cups, saucers and whole sets. All of them are used in the Cafe to shift your coffee experience a few levels up. 'Two Dots: Hand Made Little Darlings' she calls it. And the name couldn't be more accurate. Even your furry friends have their own Brigita bowl when coming to visit.

Bring your book, your laptop, a friend or just your own self and surrender to the sublime moment of having a humble but great cup of coffee.

CLAY Coffee Collective is located in Millers Arcade in Gerringong and opens from 7am until 4pm during week days, and from 8am until 4pm during weekends.

A coffee experience you can't miss if you're a true coffee lover.
