Many of the parks in Wahroonga and North Wahroonga are located beside the bushland that makes up Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. With a name like , you''d be forgiven for thinking this park is one of those, but it's actually on a residential block.
The place does feel secluded however, as the open space of the field is surrounded by trees on all sides. A synthetic wicket located in the middle of the grass means it can be used for a game of cricket.
Other sports facilities at the Grove include a basketball half-court and a netball ring (out on the grass, not on the court). There is also a bubbler, a table and toilets.
So far, it probably sounds like has lots of features likely to draw visitors. But in reality, when I visited, none of the steady stream of people I saw were interested in any of the facilities listed I've so far. Every one of them was here because the entire place is also a dog park (is that a good thing or a bad thing if you want to play cricket? I don't know).
The Ku-ring-gai area is pretty dog-friendly and this park isn't the only one around here that you can visit with your dog.
Golden Jubilee Field also has a dog park up the back of it and
Cliff Oval in another option. These are both very close to each other and two of the spots that indeed sit on the edge of the National Park (there are even bushwalks behind them).
The smaller Eldenhope Green, on Morris Avenue, is also within walking distance of . It's a basic local park that mainly offer play equipment for kids.
